In the spirit of Valentine’s Day this week with love in the air and wedding planning in full swing, we take a look back at first dance songs that have been requested over the years and anticipate the choices for the upcoming wedding season. There’s timeless and new, it’s all up to you. We have a long list of possibilities. Check out our ballads section in our current play list for ideas. Whatever song you chose, whether it is classic or new, we know that it holds a special meaning to you and we would be honored to perform it for you. If you do not find “your song” on our play list, let us know and we’ll learn it for you.

Real Maine Wedding with Kelli and Conrad

We were so excited to see Kelli and Conrad’s Harpswell wedding as one of the featured weddings seen in the 2012 Real Maine Weddings Magazine distributed at the recent Portland Bridal Show. Their story, A Maine Affair With A Southern Flair, can be found on pages 66-70. Conrad wanted a live band and Kelli couldn’t have been happier to keep the party on the dance floor. Winter in Maine and New Hampshire can be quite lovely. If you don’t mind the cold, there are many possibilites a winter wedding or special event can bring. From downtown Portland, the coast, to the mountains in Maine and New Hampshire, the possibilities are endless. As the typical “off-season” for most weddings and special events here in the Northeast, you may find you have more options when planning a winter event. Don’t forget there is Valentine’s Day in there too! We have many winter dates still available. 2011 – Year In Review

We’ve wrapped up our 2011 wedding season and now while celebrating the holidays, we look back at an amazing year filled with weddings, corporate events, festivals, holiday parties, anniversaries and club gigs. This past season has been fabulous and we are honored to have been invited to play for your weddings and events. A big THANK YOU to all the clients who took time out of their busy day to tell others what it was like to work with us. We are very honored! We would like to thank you for your support and your business. We would also like to thank the amazing photographers who have shared their photos with us. As we wrap up 2011 and get ready for the upcoming 2012 wedding season, we are looking at various pieces of our Signature wedding packages that our clients are most interested in. Wavelength offers dinner/dance wedding packages with an additional option for a customized Signature Event that includes a ceremony and cocktail hour ensemble. Our ensembles perform on-site and sometimes at a different location while the band is setting up and getting ready for your reception. The announcement will be made official by The Knot in January. Not only are live bands fun to dance to but they are fun to watch as well. A dynamic wedding and function band will engage your friends, family and guests to capture the feeling of excitement and celebration for a memorable event with a lot of energy. It’s all about celebrating and making happy memories. With a good mix of hits from yesterday to today, a live band will add just the right touch for dinner music to a rocking dance party. Grace Restaurant Wedding with Kathryn and Sam

The month of October can be such a beautiful time to get married in Maine. We were delighted to celebrate with Washington DC couple Kathryn and Sam this past October at Grace Restaurant in Portland. The ceremony and reception were both held at Grace. We performed for their first dance (White Dress by Ben Rector) before dinner and then kicked off the dance party after the cake was cut. It was a terrific time with lots of singing, dancing and tons of smiles. What an absolute pleasure to celebrate with Kathryn and Sam and see their magical day come together so perfectly. Congratulations on your marriage! Geneve Hoffman Photography captured it beautifully. Thank you for sharing.

York Harbor Wedding with Jen and Heath

It was a gorgeous day for Jen and Heath’s wedding at the Stage Neck Inn in York Harbor on September 17th. The sun was shining and the water was sparkling as they exchanged vows. The view was amazing. Paul performed for their ceremony and cocktail hour outside with acoustic guitar before joining the band inside for the reception. Jen and Heath asked us to learn a song which was choreographed for their first dance, You and Me by the Dave Mathews Band. They chose songs from our play list for their father/daughter and mother/son songs and rocked the dance floor with some of their favorite dance songs by the end of the day. We enjoyed celebrating with Jen and Heath and wish them all the best in their move from Boston to New York. Thanks for chosing Wavelength as your wedding band.
