Falmouth Country Club Navy Wedding

This military wedding just so happens to take place on a golf course, the bride’s family’s golf course, and it is a show-stopper. Abby and John’s gorgeous ceremony and reception took place at the Falmouth Country Club. It has gorgeous greens, dress whites/blues galore and a beautiful bride for the win. It was all kinds of beautiful and a whole lot of fun! It was an honor to work with and play for such a sweet couple. They never stopped smiling and their infectious joy was visible from the moment the ceremony music started!

After their first look photos in Portland, the most beautiful and romantic ceremony on the golf course happened. Abby’s brother walked Flower “Gram”, Great Grammy Harris, down the aisle followed by a lovely bridal party that included many family members and officiated by a close family friend. Paul French played guitar accompanied by Abigail’s friend on cello for the bride processional, Canon in D. This was our first look at a “ring warming” where family members “warm” the rings before the exchange. Truly a beautiful family affair.

Abigail and John wowed guests as the saber team positioned itself in formation just outside the tent entrance to execute the formal Arch of Swords followed by the kiss and introduction as husband and wife leading into the first dance. The couple asked us to learn Guava Jelly by Johnny Nash for their first dance which was a funny song that John sang to Abigail when they first met in Hawaii. Sounds a little like Top Gun moment! Guests were invited to join the couple on the dance floor for a mini dance set of Barry White, Whitney Houston and The Contours. The party had officially started! Toasts were delivered on the dance floor, thank you remarks from the happy couple and everyone sang Happy Birthday to Great Grammy and others. The band played What a Wonderful World for a combination father/daughter and mother/son dance.  Continuing with the formalities, Abigail and John cut the cake – this would be a large whoopie pie with the sword and we had some fun with them on the bouquet and garter toss. We closed out the night with John’s request for Wagon Wheel for their last dance. The crowd was incredibly fun on the dance floor and we hated to see the celebration end.
