Backyard Wedding In Coastal Maine

Tucked away along the coastline of Maine is this gorgeous property where Rhianon and Colby said their I do’s and celebrated their wedding into the night last September. Set in Bremen, the laid back charm of that familiar summer home for this family included big day celebrations with everything from an original song written and performed by the bride’s brothers for the ceremony to home videos, slides shows, toasts and incredible dance performances. Sometimes it’s all about the music.

There were many special musical moments for Rhianon and Colby’s wedding day but the one that stood out the most for us was their flawless choreographed first dance. So honored to play it for them! Rhianon and Colby took dance lessons in California for their choreographed first dance (Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran) and sent us the recording for timing. Thank you for trusting in us!

Paul French provided the ceremony music on acoustic guitar. The bride and groom chose Blackbird for the bridesmaid processional, Come Away with Me for the bride and Here Comes the Sun for their recessional. Paul coordinated with the bride’s family to mic the brothers on guitar and vocals to play their original song during the ceremony,  mic her brother David to read a poem and cousin Michael who officiated. Paul Dionne played keyboards during cocktail hour for a wonderful backyard wedding vibe with a view.

The dancing entrance by the wedding party set the tone for an incredible evening ahead. Before the special dances got underway, toasts were made by parents, grandparents, cousins, the maid of honor and best woman including a happy anniversary wish to the bride’s parents. They were married in the same place 31 years ago! Rhi danced with her dad to a childhood song, Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes by Paul Simon. Colby danced with his mother to Stand by Me by Ben E. King. From there, it moved into fast dance music for Colby’s sister Ashley to join, followed by all the guests hitting the dance floor for the celebration!
