Classic Maine Wedding at French’s Point
Kayla and Greg had an incredibly memorable French’s Point wedding that is pretty much everything we could have imagined this classic Maine wedding to be like. So many amazing moments for them! This beautiful coastal venue with ocean views was the perfect backdrop for Kayla and Greg’s fun reception that was classic black and white with a twist of modern to include light drapery and show stopping chandeliers over the dance floor for this music-loving crowd.
After being together for four years, Greg proposed to his love of his life on Rome’s infamous spanish steps. A year later, they marry at St. Francis Assisi Church in Belfast. We were thrilled that they asked us back to celebrate at French’s Point in Stockton Springs and set the tone for a night to remember.
This was our second wedding with Kayla’s family and it wasn’t a surprise to see the dance floor packed from the very first song of the night. They celebrated their big day with their people. One of the best parts of the entire night was when Kayla’s Step-Father hopped on stage with the band to play lead guitar on “Smooth” by Rob Thomas! We have a few amazing shots of this captured by the talented Liz Donnelly of Maine Wedding Photography.
The Music
After cocktail music with Paul French on guitar, the wedding party was introduced into the tent to “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” immediately followed by their first dance, “One And Only” by Adele. After a lively dinner set, the party started with two new songs for the parent dances. Kayla asked us to learn “Walking On Broken Glass” by Annie Lennox for her Father/Daughter dance. Greg chose asked us to cover “Little Wonders” by Rob Thomas for his Mother/Son dance.
The happy couple snuck away for gorgeous sunset photos before Kayla changed into a party dress with a black leather jacket. That’s when the party really started to get going. Guests went wild when the Kayla’s step-dad joined the band to play a killer guitar lead on Smooth. This was classic dance floor success and they loved every minute of it. “Best weekend ever!!!” It truly is all about the personal touches and these sweet moments that will last a lifetime.
