Classic Colony Hotel Wedding
Erik and Alexis shared a beautiful day at the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport with loving family and friends. It was a romantic, classic wedding with lots of sparkle and fun. The couple were living in Erik’s home state of Tennessee but with Alexis growing up in Southern Maine, it was the perfect choice to marry on the coast of Maine. They planned an absolutely perfect day in Kennebunkport to begin their happily ever after. With details small and large, it was personalized, organized and so Maine in every way. Following their church ceremony, Erik and Alexis celebrated their Maine wedding by dancing, laughing, eating lobster, playing games and carving out time for amazing photo opportunities with Rebecca Richards Photography. We are excited to share a glimpse into their lovely wedding day.
Cocktail hour on the grand ocean porch with a little golf and acoustic guitar by Paul French.
The reception started with wedding party introductions to Shut up and Dance by Walk the Moon and right into their First Dance, Can’t Help Falling In Love by Elvis. Following dinner and toasts, two special songs were played for mom and dad. Alexis and her dad chose I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston for their Father/Daughter Dance and Erik and his mom picked Home by Phillip Phillips for their Mother/Son Dance.
They asked us to emcee a generation dance to A Thousand Years by Christina Perri for all the married couples plus the Shoe Game where they provided a list of questions for us. The shoe game was a first for the band and really a lot of fun. Next up, we needed to pack the dance floor. With this crowd, that was no problem!
It was time for the perfect ending. The best way to end an unforgettable day, close with Firework by Katy Perry before a spectacular sparkler send off.
This was such a stunning wedding with an incredibly loving couple. Congrats to Erik and Alexis! For more beautiful photos, visit the Rebecca Richard Photography blog.
Their review as see on The Knot and Wedding Wire: “Wavelength played at our September 2016 wedding at The Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport. The Band was amazing and had the dance floor completely full until the very end of the night! The band’s manager Johnna was great to work with leading up to the Big Day with helping us plan all of the details. At the wedding reception, Wavelength rocked it! Our guests cannot stop talking about how amazing the band was and how much fun they had on the dance floor. The Band was open to our special requests and incorporated a generation dance and shoe game into the reception for us. Wavelength put on an amazing performance and one that we will be talking about for years to come. We had the best time singing and dancing the night away together. Definitely book Wavelength for your wedding/special event!! We highly recommend this band!!”
