May Wedding at the Marriott
We are absolutely thrilled to have our 2013 wedding season off to a great start. After many months of planning with Martha and Christopher, we couldn’t wait for May 4th to get here. We coordinated the first dance song, parent dances and introductions with Martha via email but secretly were making plans with Christopher to surprise his new bride with a guest appearance on stage with the band. A week before the wedding we had the opportunity to meet with Christopher in person at the studio to prepare for his songs. Christopher wanted to play Ray Lamontagne’s “You are the best thing” on his guitar with the band for Martha and after a bit more planning, chose an upbeat song to entertain his friends. Chris rocked it! What a wonderful personal touch for the wedding reception. We had a blast and were honored to share their special day with them. Congratulations!

Rebecca and Andrew’s Spruce Point Inn Wedding
It doesn’t get much better than a Fall wedding at Spruce Point Inn in Boothbay Harbor. Well, Spring and Summer weddings in Boothbay Harbor are pretty awesome too! We were delighted to be a part of Rebecca and Andrew’s destination wedding in October. From a beautiful ceremony with a modern mix of special songs, Just Say Yes by Snow Patrol for a first dance, Paul Simon for the father/daughter dance, Edelweiss waltz for Andrew and his mom who traveled from Ireland, to their fantastic dance party, their celebration was beautiful and unforgettable. All our best to Rebecca and Andrew!

Alison and Mike marry at On the Marsh
Pouring rain did not stop this wedding celebration from being beautiful and unforgettable. Alison and Mike’s ceremony was moved inside. On The Marsh did not skip a beat. After dinner upstairs, everyone moved downstairs for a great night of dancing with a variety of classics and rockin 80′s tunes. From Hava Nagilia to special song dedications and the rain, it was a day filled with joy and love. One to remember.
We are delighted to share these wonderful photos by Nadra Photography.

August Wedding: Point Lookout
Meghan called us last February after receiving her copy of the Real Maine Weddings magazine in the mail. She and Josh, like Kelli and Conrad, were planning a Maine wedding while living in the South. We were thrilled to start the preparations to celebrate with Meghan and Josh at Point Lookout in Northport. We provided live music for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Paul played keyboards for the ceremony with a combination of classical arrangements for the processionals and a Beach Boys song for the recessional. He also performed during cocktail hour before joining the band inside for the reception. Kicking off the dancing with a first dance song by Ray Charles, the evening was full of dancing to songs from then and now.

June wedding: Ocean Gateway
Wow, it’s already February! We want to take some time and catch up on our blog posts from our past wedding season and share the love. Last spring we interviewed two couples about their upcoming June weddings. Karinne and Dan were one of them. Their wedding reception at Ocean Gateway was such a beautiful setting with the large windows overlooking Portland Harbor. Karinne did a fantastic job with the decorations. She sent the band home with some of the flowers, how sweet is that! We were so excited to be chosen to provide their wedding reception entertainment and just as thrilled to hear how Karinne and Dan wanted to dedicate a song to each other for their first dance. With songs from Rascall Flats and Billy Joel, it was truly a unique and special touch for this wedding. They danced all night, what fun!

October Wedding – New Harbor
Plans were made last winter after a long Friday night drive up from New York City. Jackie and Chris were planning a destination wedding in New Harbor and wanted a lively dance party with lots of motown and classics. Beautiful bride and groom, gorgeous location, fun group of guests and one terrific dance party. Jackie and Chris’s wedding was all that and more. It was pretty awesome to have Jackie and Chris join the band on stage too. We had such a fantastic time celebrating at The Contented Sole, what a great day.
We recently received a handwritten thank you note from Jackie and Chris. How special is that! Dear Wavelength – We were so happy and honored to have you be a part of our wedding day! It goes without saying your music went way above and beyond our expectations! So many of our guests were commenting on what a great dance party it was! Thank you for making our day that much more special and we are forever indebted to you all! Wishing you all the best…Jackie and Chris
Thank you to Cuppa Photography for sharing your wonderful photos!

MA Farm Wedding With Josh And Heather
Josh and Heather had the most amazing farm wedding in Hubbardston, MA. Their family farm, High Meadow Farm, was such a great venue to host their laid back style celebration. There were no formalities, just an evening of dinner and dancing with friends and family after a beautiful ceremony. It was a lot of fun. Truly one of the nicest couples and so easy going!
We first heard from Josh when he told us that he had attended Alison and Michael’s wedding in Camden four years ago and was looking to have Wavelength play at his wedding as well. We were thrilled. Alison’s sister had Wavelength at her wedding two years ago too and now Josh and Heather. We’re hoping to hear from more family and friends to keep the tradition going!
Josh’s review on Wedding Wire: We had first heard Wavelength at a friend’s wedding and loved them so much we asked if they would perform at our wedding (in another state, a good 2-3 hours away). They were so easy to work with, so fun to have at the wedding and have such a great mix of songs that everyone at the reception was on their feet (old and young alike!) We are so grateful that Wavelength was very accomodating – our wedding was outside, and it was a drizzly day – and laid back. Their manager Johnna spoke with us multiple times including just a few days before the wedding to iron out plans and make sure everything was set. I would recommend them to anyone!

New Review on Wedding Wire
Amy and Tom’s beautiful wedding at Sebasco Harbor Resort was posted a few months back on our blog. Lucky us, we were brought back to their unforgettable August wedding when Amy and Tom sent us photos and notified us that they had written a review on Wedding Wire for us over the holidays. What a sweet couple. We are so thankful that they chose Wavelength to share in their special day!
“Picking Wavelength as our wedding band was one of the best decisions we made. They were absolutely wonderful! Working up to the wedding we worked with the manager Johnna. She listened to all of our requests and made everything very stress free. For example, she was able to provide microphones for our outdoor ceremony. Wavelength had worked with our resort in the past and it was great knowing that the wedding planners at the resort and the band had a history of working well together. A few days before the wedding Johnna was still checking in to see if there were any changes we wanted. The day of the wedding went very smoothly and everything went as planned. Wavelength felt the energy from the crowd and really played to them. They played requests and everyone at the reception was dancing and singing to the music all night!! People are still talking about how much they loved the band and said it was the best wedding they have been too. Wavelength really made the wedding the best day of our life.”

Wedding at Camp Manitou
What a wonderful celebration we were privileged to be a part of in September with Abby and Matt at Camp Manitou. A super nice couple and a fantastic time was had by all. Abby and Matt’s engagement story was very special and brought them back to Camp Manitou for a beautiful weekend in Waterville. Lots of special touches were seen throughout including their first dance song, Today and Hava Nagilia shared by Abby and Matt and Matt’s parents. It was a very memorable day for us all. Every one of the band members received a gift bag from the bride and groom. This was a first! We are very thankful for the wonderful people we are honored to work with! Thank you to Bethany and Dan Photography and Michelle Garner Photography for sharing the photos.
Abby’s review as seen on The Knot: Wavelength was amazing! My husband was given the job of finding a band for our wedding in Maine, and he came across Wavelength. We were a little bit apprehensive initially because we live in FL and were getting married in ME, so we weren’t able to see them live. Johnna met with me in person, though, when I was visiting Maine before the wedding, and set my mind at ease. She provided me with a CD of tracks, and we hired them a few days later. We couldn’t be happier! The band was outstanding, and often times sounded so much like the original artists of the songs that people didn’t realize they were listening to a band! No only that, they learned 5 songs for us (including our first dance song), and Kathleen even looked up the lyrics and sang “Call Me Maybe” acapella for our niece. When the band took breaks, so did our guests, but as soon as the band took to the stage again, people were immediately back on the dance floor! We absolutely made the right choice with Wavelength, and I would recommend them to anyone!

Wedding Reception Video: Jen and Heath
Do you remember Jen and Heath’s Stage Neck Inn wedding in September 2011? We haven’t forgotten! We had a fantastic time celebrating with Jen and Heath. It took us a while to upload this video clip so it’s pretty exciting for us to share their awesome dance party at the end of our 2012 wedding season with everyone. Peter and Susan were absolutley amazing to work with and we want to send a big thank you to them at Yellow Dog Production for the video clip. It’s not very often that we work with wedding videographers so this was pretty special. Thank you again to Jen and Heath for allowing us to share your wedding day with you. You are awesome!

Megan and Nick’s Broadturn Farm Wedding
It couldn’t have been a more perfect day for Megan and Nick. With sunny skies in Scarborough, Broadturn Farm was transformed into a magical place where family and friends would celebrate the wedding of a wonderful couple. We were delighted to be a part of such a special day. We originally planned to travel to New York for Megan and Nick’s August wedding but to our happy surprise, the location was changed to Broadturn Farm which was 10 minutes away from our studio! Their farm wedding was quite special. So many details! The event planning from Paula of A Family Affair Of Maine was just spectacular. The vintage cars, the burlap, the smores and all of their amazing vendors and family and friends made for a very special celebration. Sharyn Peavey Photography captured it all. We are so happy to have had the opportunity to get to know this super sweet couple and their family. Thank you for allowing us to share your day with you!
Nick, thank you for the wonderful review on The Knot. Experienced, Extremely Talented and Professional: We were introduced to Wavelength by my wife’s father. He had been getting lessons from one of the band members, Paul. We checked out their website, which is extremely informative, and decided this would be a great choice. From our first meeting with Johnna, the band manager, we knew we had made the right choice. Johnna had great ideas and experience to lend to our admittedly general requests. She was accomodating to our musical style and song requests and I was personally impressed with her level of professionalism and organization. Onto the band; Wavelegnth is very versatile and has the ability to play all kinds of music. We had them do the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The bands versatility provided us with a variety of different sounds that merged well with the ambiance we were looking to create for each part of the wedding. They even accomodated our special request to have my Uncle Fred play with the band to sing and play piano for our first dance. People were dancing the whole night at the reception and loved the band. There were absolutely no problems dealing with them and they were completely professional. We could not have been happier to have them be a part of our special day, they were awesome. The combination of Johnna’s planning expertise with the band’s versatility and skill make Wavelength an amazing choice for a wedding band. Highly recommended.
Abi And Sam Marry At Sugarloaf
We first spoke to Abi and Sam over the winter as they were planning their Labor Day weekend wedding at Sugarloaf. Abi and Sam were looking for a long weekend celebration that included some time on the golf course and had originally planned on a Sunday wedding. We had just booked another wedding on that Sunday so Abi and Sam decided to change their wedding day to Saturday, September 1st to have us play. We are so happy that they did! It was such a great experience working together. They are so sweet! We just loved how their family and friends danced the night away. We even brought home a few autographs’s from Survivor Bob. Abi and Sam’s celebration totally rocked! Thank you for having us! Thank you Jeff Pouland Photography for the great photography!
Abi’s Review on Wedding Channel: Amazing Band, great to work with! I would recommend the Wavelength band to anyone looking for a fun, talented and easy to work with band for their wedding or other functions! Johnna, the manager, is organized, straight forward, fair, delightful, flexible, and easy to work with. I didn’t get to meet the band until they arrived, but they were all polite, happy and easy to work with on the day of the wedding! Their song choices were amazing. From the time the music started to when it ended, our dance floor was packed! I couldn’t have asked for a better band! Thank you a million times over!!!

Backyard Tented Wedding in Bowdoinham
Ben and Briana’s wedding reception wast tented in Briana’s parent’s backyard in Bowdoinham during a very hot day in mid-July. The heat and humidity did not stop this crowd from dancing the night away. With Ben and Briana living in London, their celebration was coordinated here in Maine and across the pond for the past year with thoughtful music selections and detailed setup arrangements by wonderful hosts. It was beautiful, thank you!
”…I am a bit of a music buff from way back to the Woodstock days and I appreciate good music. They blew me away, much better than I expected. All of the members of the band were very accomplished. I really enjoyed the lead guitar player. What a great time…” Jim, father of the bride
Thursday Wedding at Newagen Seaside Inn
Sandy and Tom thought a busy weekend summer season called for a Thursday wedding. We thought it sounded pretty good to us too so we all made our way to the beautiful Newagen Seaside Inn for a happy celebration. With warm air in August and a touch of fog, the outside wedding was beautiful. Paul played acoustic guitar for the ceremony and cocktail hour before the band kicked off the tented reception for dinner and dancing. Special touches for the songs and guests musicians made for a very warm and personalized event. We loved all the dancing! It was an absolute pleasure to work with such a great couple, wonderful venue that we always rave about and a terrific photographer who rocks, Kim Chapman Photography.
Thank you Sandy and Tom for the wonderful review!
“I would highly recommend the band wavelength. From the first contact with their manager Johnna and listening to previews of their music I knew they were the band for us. They learned a new song that was not even published by a local Maine band and did a wonderful job. Everyone danced, of all ages, and raved about how great and how much fun the band was. My daughter and son sang at the reception and the band thought they were so good they asked them to sing with the band. Not many bands would go out on a limb and do that. Our wedding was on a Thursday on Southport Island and the band had no problem accomodating the week day date or the location. I would highly recommend them and would use them again in a heartbeat. They helped make the day very special.”
First Dance With Surprise
Eddie and Becky’s wedding was absolutely stunning this past Sunday with a gorgeous backdrop at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay Harbor. Guests move to the tent following a beautiful ceremony and cocktail hour. We introduce the wedding party and bring Eddie and Becky to the dance floor for their first dance. At the end of their dance, they immediately go into a surprise bottle dance. What fun! To our delight, the energy just got better and better and the dance floor was packed all night.
Sebasco Harbor Resort Wedding
What a picture perfect August wedding day at one of our favorites places, Sebasco Harbor Resort. Susan Mullen Photography captured it beautifully. This wedding was memorable and oh so fun. Amy and Tom were just amazing. They joined us on our music cruise in 2011 so we knew they liked to dance. Dance they did! We played an Edwin McCain favorite for their first dance which was a terrific start to a great wedding celebration. Another 2012 favorite!

Audrey and John’s Castine Wedding
It was a picture perfect day in Castine for Audrey and John’s wedding. After planning with Audrey and John from Chicago, the day was just as we imagined it would be…one big dance party. The wedding reception was tented on Audrey’s mom’s lawn in Castine. Following their Sonny and Cher first dance, the dance floor was packed the entire night with friends and family. It was a blast. Audrey’s nephew joined the band on stage to drum some Bon Jovi too. A great time was had by all.
John’s review of Wavelength on The Knot and Wedding Wire: My wife and I had the pleasure of having Wavelength perfom at our recent wedding in Castine, Maine. From start to finish the band was outstanding. The musicianship, the variety of the playlist, and the flow of the evening was top notch. A high percentage of our guests, and a number of neighbors(ours was an outdoor wedding at a private residence) commented about how good the band was. I Highly recommend Wavelength. John
